Hi, I’m Lloyd Wharton, better known as DJ LDuB. I grew up in the vibrant music scene of Chicago, inspired by legendary DJs like Farley Keith, Steve Hurley, Frankie Knuckles (RIP) and Ron Hardy (RIP). My DJ journey began in the late '80s while serving in the Army, where I spent my free time honing my craft. Over the years, I’ve learned that being a great DJ isn’t just about playing hits or showing off—it’s about reading the crowd, adapting, and creating an unforgettable experience.
In 1993, while stationed in Germany, I had the honor of working with a veteran DJ Mister Magic (No, not the one from NY, lol), who taught me the art of working a diverse crowd and building a set that connects emotionally. This pivotal experience shaped my career, from playing military base circuits to co-performing with seasoned DJs; which ultimately taught me to trust my instincts and let the music speak.
In 2000, I rededicated my life to Christ, which transformed my perspective on music. I transitioned to playing Gospel and Inspirational House, blending my passion for music with my faith. Over the years, I’ve been blessed to share my mixes on platforms like: WCSE-UHN and WKIM online, WHCR in New York, WFDU in NJ, Ibiza Live Radio, House Beats Radio Station, House Station Radio, Philly Nights Radio and DJs In The House Radio. Currently, I’m also proud to be part of the World Wide DJ Network, where I actively share my mixes on the Mixcloud platform and collaborate with talented DJs worldwide. I am also now on the Legends of Vinyl Broadcast page, which airs on Roku internationally.
My mission is simple: to uplift, inspire, encourage and get people dancing - whether at a club, private event, or live broadcast. With a versatile style that spans House, Gospel, Disco, Funk, and more, I’m here to create memorable experiences for every crowd.
